Job Description:

  • Supervise the work of technologists, technicians, and co-op students in Metallurgical lab and Gage and Layout areas.
  • Management of on-time calibration, control, and organization of gage system.
  • Accountable for keeping the metallurgical laboratory and gage and layout department in conformance to ISO/TS standard requirements.
  • Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products to determine conformance to specifications, mechanical properties, composition, and microstructure.
  • Plan and implement laboratory operations for developing material and fabrication procedures that meet cost, product specification, and performance standards.
  • Responsible for the procurement of lab equipment and consumables for operation of the laboratory.


Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, computer, and project management skills.
  • geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • CMM operation and programming.
  • Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry preferred.
  • A minimum of Bachelors degree in material science or metallurgical engineering.
  • 5 years or more of relevant experience.
