Job Description:

• Operates computer-aided design (CAD) system and peripheral equipment to convert engineers’ concepts into 3D solid models and 2D detail drawings.
• Reviews engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
• Confers with engineering and design staff to determine and implement design modifications.
• Adheres to Best Practices for robust parametric 3D models and 2D detail drawings.
• Familiarity with GD&T concepts and awareness of Automotive OEM requirements.
• Assist engineers with studies, proposals, design iterations and cost improvements for current production programs and potential new business.
• Meet customer timing/delivery with 3D/2D in customer PLM systems.
• Manage models and drawings within Neapco PLM.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Preferred Skills:

• Solid background in CAD techniques, including 3D solid modeling and 2D detail drawings.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in CAD design of automotive components.
• Familiarity with castings and forgings.
• Familiarity with GD&T concepts and awareness of automotive OEM specific requirements.
• Proficiency/Experience with Catia V5.
• Proficiency/Experience with either Ford Teamcenter.
• Awareness of Enovia V6 Designer & Engineering Central (preferred but not required).
• Familiarity with CAD concepts, practices and release procedures in the automotive manufacturing
  industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
• High level of initiative and work well in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read 2D prints and GD&T.
• Motivated, detail and goal oriented, professional.
• Ability to plan and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction.
